Abstract:

Chrysanthemum ‘Jinba’ was used as material to study the influence of exogenous spermidine (Spd) and its inhibitor dicyclohexyl amine (DCHA) on formation of adventitious roots and relative physiological and biochemical parameters. Results showed that, rooting was advanced for 2 days with the treatment of exogenous Spd compared with CK, and Spd significantly promoted rooting and seeding quality. Spd could increase the accumulation of chlorophyll, soluble sugar, starch and soluble protein and increased the activities of POD and PPO compared with those of the control. Plant hormones were specially affected by exogenous Spd application. Compared to the control, the content of IAA and the ratios of IAA/ABA and IAA/ZR in the base of steams were higher with the Spd treatment. Spd reduced the contents of ABA, ZR, JA and GA. DCHA had the opposite results. The rooting ability induced by submerged in DCHA, and then submerged in Spd was similar to the control. The results illustrate that, polyamine may influence the contents of chlorophyll, nutrients, hormones and related enzyme activities, thereby regulate adventitious rooting of chrysanthemum.
